Villa Turquesa

Villa Turquesa - a beautiful cliffside villa in Cabo San Lucas - was my home last week.

Extra large antique turquoise doors welcome guests at the entrance.

And thanks to walls of windows, almost every room has an amazing view of the Pacific.

Attention to detail was literally underfoot everywhere. I've always loved Mexican painted tiles!

White slipcovered furniture, seagrass layered with antique dhurrie rugs, and Mexican antique furniture and pottery finish the rooms.

This hand-forged iron gate was outside of our bedroom. You can see the bright blue color of the ocean as the waves break on the rocks. I wonder if that's how Villa Turquesa got its name?

And this pretty much sums up what we did every day.

This traditional Mexican drawing is framed in acrylic. Isn't the bright scalloped border fun?

A small study sits off the main living room. I especially loved the vintage seascape painting on the bookshelves.

And the main living room opens up onto the pool and patio. It's hard to see in this photo, but the striped dhurrie rug is so beautiful. Also, take a look at the ceiling. It's concave and lined with little bricks. Several rooms in the house had this ceiling style.

Lots of fun was had in this room - sombreros and margaritas for everyone!

It was an amazing four days until we were all chased out of town by Hurricane Odine. Stroud and I made it out on the last flight before the storm hit. Some of our friends were not so lucky and spent last night in Villa Turquesa's pantry. The home lost several windows but thankfully our friends are safe this morning.

  3. So glad you all were able to enjoy Casa Turquesa before the hurricane struck! So devastated that our family's home suffered so much damage but glad everyone is ok. Praying sweet Lorenzo and his family are ok.
