Tickled Pink!

I love having little boys. I've learned all of the racing stats on the Bugatti (yeah, never heard of it either), and taught them how to catch a minnow out of the bait bucket with their bare hands (something I do happen to be an expert at).

And although I don't miss having a daughter, I have to admit, I was pretty excited when my sister Hayley found out she is expecting a little girl, Ellen. Finally, I can venture inside the American Girl store and break out the box of My Little Ponies I've been hoarding all these years! But first things first....

The girl's got to have a good room! Hayley has done a great job with the nursery, and I wanted to share it with you because I think it's so pretty. The crib is from Bratt Decor, and the bedding is from local designer Kristaben. And she commissioned the painting from my dear friend and talented artist Nicole Groth. Nicole did a beautiful job, as always!

Here's a close-up of the Kristaben bedding, which is known for its ornate, hand embroidery.

I gifted Hayley with my changing table but the upholstered chair and ottoman are new, as is the cute "tini table" from Oomph

Here's a little nostalgic vignette above the changing table. Hayley collects pierced creamware, and the Herend roses were gifts from when she appeared in the Texas Rose Festival. The silver pieces and Peter Rabbit figure all belonged to Hayley and her husband Tommy.

So with the nursery complete, the women in our family are getting pretty impatient waiting for Ellen, especially my sister. Hopefully she'll make her debut sometime in the next couple of weeks. She's definitely got some pretty digs to come home to!

New Shipment!

My finds in Atlanta arrived last week, and over the weekend I had a chance to move everything into the shop.

The antique French side tables have simple, clean lines, which I love because they also look great in more modern homes. I also brought home some vintage French champagne buckets. They make great gifts. You can use them as a pretty place to store bar tools or even plant an orchid!
Here's another French side table, also in a more simple style. And wouldn't these vintage concrete baskets make great centerpieces for Easter?
This is my favorite side table, mostly because I'm in love with the pretty hardware! I also found some great pieces of table coral.
This antique mirror was found in Paris. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the glass is really beautiful and smokey. It's a good size for a small wall or powder bath.

Swing by soon or send me an e-mail if there's something you love. I also still have a selection of paintings by EMYO and Melissa Payne Baker!
